ART DIRECTION, GAME DESIGN, UX/UI DESIGN - 2011/2012

World Hospital

World Hospital by Swoobie was an ambitious social game developed in collaboration with Hospital S. João. Designed for the Facebook platform. This immersive game allowed players to build and manage their own hospital from the ground up. The project aimed to create an engaging experience while raising funds for the new Pediatric Hospital Wing at Hospital S. João. Through in-game purchases, players could contribute to the project.

Starting with an empty tent, players recruited skilled staff and obtained supplies to meet the medical needs of nearby communities. They expanded their facility with wings and departments, simulating the daily operations of a hospital. World Hospital aimed to raise awareness of quality healthcare and foster empathy for medical professionals. Featured visually appealing environments, captivating gameplay mechanics, and a range of challenges and opportunities.

In this project, I assumed the roles of art director, game designer, and UX/UI designer. My responsibilities included shaping the visual style, defining gameplay mechanics, and crafting an intuitive user interface. Working closely with the development team, I strived to ensure a seamless and engaging player experience. It was an incredible opportunity to merge my expertise in art direction, game design, and UX/UI to bring this project to life.
